The American Civil Liberties Union is a national non-partisan organization with more than 280,000 members dedicated to preserving and defending the principles embodied in the Bill of Rights.  The ACLU of Georgia is one of 52 affiliates and has more than 6,000 card-carrying members and donors.

  We receive many requests for help. Our legal committtee reviews the cases and weighs a number of factors before making their final decision about whether or not to take a case.
 
 
Type of Help:
This group provides the following types of services based on your legal needs and its resources:
 
  Full Legal Representation
  Self-Help Materials
  Other- The ACLU of Georgia sponsors clinics at town halls in Atlanta, Macon, Augusta, Columbus, Athens, Valdosta, and Savannah. They also speak at other community education events. The topics they cover include: the Patriot Act, the First and Fourth Amendments, racial profiling, and other current topics. Call the ACLU of Georgia at (404) 523-5398 for more information.
