Georgia Innocence Project

Who We Are:

The Georgia Innocence Project assists inmates in Georgia trying to prove their innocence through the use of biological evidence which can be subjected to DNA testing.  With the help of law school interns, we review and evaluate claims of innocence.  Once the project takes on representation, we work with volunteer lawyers in preparing the case for hearing and acting on the results of the testing.  We consult with legislators and law enforcement officials on the state, local, and federal level, conduct research and training, produce scholarship, and propose a wide range of remedies to prevent wrongful convictions while continuing our work to free innocent inmates through the use of postconviction DNA testing.
