The Savannah office of Georgia Legal Services operates a project for homeless persons under a grant from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).The project receives federal funds provided by the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. Persons who qualify as homeless under the HUD definition are eligible to receive free legal services. One attorney and an Americorps volunteer staff the project.
